Opening Ceremony

This year’s opening ceremony will take place at 12 pm on Saturday, October 10th at the DePasquale Plaza stage.

At the opening ceremony of the 41st Anniversary Galbani Columbus Weekend Festival on Federal Hill in Providence, we proudly honor individuals whose dedication and spirit embody the heart of our community. The Grand Marshal leads the celebration, representing the pride and tradition that continues to define Federal Hill. The Legacy Award pays tribute to those whose lasting contributions preserve the culture, heritage, and vitality of our neighborhood for generations to come. The Vincent A. Cianci Jr. Civic Award recognizes individuals who exemplify the late mayor’s commitment to civic duty, community growth, and the strengthening of Providence’s cultural fabric. Finally, the Foodie Ambassador Award highlights those who champion Federal Hill’s culinary excellence, showcasing our neighborhood as a world-class dining destination. Together, these awards reflect the values, traditions, and flavors that make Federal Hill a true treasure in Rhode Island.
